I started playing rugby union seriously and my twin started playing baseball. We both received a scholarship to university to play our respective sports. My twin kept playing until he finished his university study, however I wasn’t enjoying playing for my uni team. I decided to come over to Australia to finish my university degree instead, which took a while to finish, and in the meantime kept playing rugby. After finishing my degree, I got a contract and became a professional rugby player over in Japan – but then I unfortunately got a spinal injury and had to stop. I carried on with further study and became qualified as an exercise scientist and acupuncturist. I am now planning on further study to become a physiotherapist. I am no longer hurting people from fights, actually healing and treating people. Treating patients is fantastic!
